UP Initiative is a community-led non-profit that provides low-barrier, accessible services in direct response to disparities unhoused and underhoused Berea residents are facing every day - all in a way that is compassionate, equitable, proactive, and effective.

The only way the UP-Initiative is able to provide the best care and resources possible, is with the help of people like you! It takes community engagement, participation, care, and a sense of pride in your community to help promote change and healing. There are so many ways to make a difference and change lives.

  • With our meal-train resource we are able to offer full meals to those in need via street outreach. You can sign up to cook a meal or be there to help distribute. More information coming soon!

  • Through this program you can decide to dedicate 15 hours of your time over the course of a month, to help the initiative grow, prosper, and serve to largest extent possible. Choosing to Pledge 15 holds one accountable for their gift of time and service. More information coming soon!

  • To become a donor to this initiative represents someone who is taking the power to make a difference into their hands. You can donate the cost of a meal for the community or any amount you deem fit. We also take clothing, hygiene, and feminine product donations!

UP Initiative serves adults and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. This includes individuals struggling with mental health issues, substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, or those who have experienced economic hardships or trauma.

By providing an array of services under one roof, we reduce the barriers that often prevent people from accessing help.
